Here I am!! Today I would like to speak about our journey in Provence
We organized our trip in less than one week. The planned date was April 25 (Italy’s Liberation Day). I wanted to visit Provence for some time, so I started investigate this area to understand how to visit the maximum number of beautiful cities within a short period of time.
The departure was April 22 at 15:30 from Milan to Nice. We arrived in Nice around the evening (19:00) (we got stuck in traffic for a while). After a quick stop in the hotel we started the day from the center of this lovely city. There were so many things to see but unfortunately it was a rainy day.
The day after, we moved toward a lovely and elegant town, called Aix-en-Provence. It was really crowded! The main street Corso Mirabeau was surrounded by plane trees, coffee shops and restaurants. The most famous tourist attractions were fontana de la Rotonde, a beautiful fountain located at the end of the street. On top the fountain there were three statues of three women, symbolizing the ideas of Justice, Trade and Fine Arts. On the other side of the street there were others fountains (with a total of 12) including: fontaine des 9 canons, fontaine d’eau chaude and fontaine du roi Renè. The last one had a statue of Renato D’ Angiò, he reigned these lands in the 14th century.

Fruit and vegetable markets and flower markets are typical of this area. They emit a good smell and are full of colours!
Place des Precheurs
Place de l’Hotel de Ville
We came across one of these flower markets in front of Hotel de Ville, an old building with a wooden front door. Standing next to it, there was a bell tower dating back to 1661. It reminded us of the typical Italian architecture.

We couldn’t go to any museums because we hadn’t enough time. If your present situation is the same, I would like to give you an advice: walk around, in alleys and roads You will find beautiful scenery and delicious squares in which you can lose yourself in a wonderful aroma of flowers and sweets and enchanting views of this amazing country.
