Do you know that in Venice there is a Panoramic Terrace which can be accessed for free and from which you can enjoy an incredible view on the Grand Canal?
This is the panoramic point on the Palazzo Fondaco dei Tedeschi, this palace was destroyed by a fire and it was rebuilt in 1500. It was a very important building for trade.
The interior and exterior of the palace were frescoed by great painters such as Tiziano Vecellio, Tintoretto, Giorgione.
Unfortunately the negligence and the passage of time have almost completely erased frescoes and only a few fragments of the works have survived to the present day.
In 2008 it was subjected to a complex renovation by the architect Rem Koolas and in 2016 the entire building was reopened to the public under the name T Fondaco dei Tedeschi and now it houses a commercial center of luxury products of the Dfs Duty Free Group.
Access to the terrace is completely free but you need to book the visit.
It is possible to do it both Online and directly in the structure (you will find ipads on the 3rd and 4th floors).
Every 15 minutes access to 80 people is allowed, so it’s better to book in advance!
If you are in Venice it would be a shame not to enjoy this view, maybe during the sunset like us…. it’s also FREE!
