PROVENCE DAY 3: Avignon

Usually, It happens that the time passes very quickly when you travel!  April 25th was our last day in Provence.

After an abundant breakfast,  we said  goodbye to the lady of the b&b where we had been staying and we moved to Avignon, as planned.

We left the car in one of the many free parking that Avignon offered and we moved toward the old town centre, thanks to a shuttle from the shuttle service of Avignon that serves the city for free. I was pleasantly impressed by the will to reduce pollution by promoting the use of public transport.

PROVENCE Day 2: Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, Gordes e Roussillon

Hello, Everyone! Today I would like to tell you more about our second day in Provence.

In the morning our first stop was Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. I can sum up that travel with a single word: AMAZING!

Normally, before the departure, I collect information about the places where we are going to go, and I did the same for this journey; therefore I read that Francesco Petrarca, important italian poet and  the founder of the Humanism, stayed here for inspiration, writing his famous poetry

PROVENCE TOUR IN JUST THREE DAYS: Travel itinerary

We organized our trip in less than one week. The planned date was April 25 (Italy’s Liberation Day). I wanted to visit Provence for some time, so I started to find out about this area and to understand how to visit the highest number of beautiful cities within a short period of time.

The departure was April 22 at 15.30 from Milan to Nice. We arrived in Nice around evening (19.00) (we got stuck in traffic for a while). After a quick stop in hotel we started the day trip in this lovely city, starting from the city center.

Italian villages: Arquà Petrarca and Monselice

Arquà Petrarca

Me and some friends went to Arquà Petrarca to escape the traffic and the smog of the city. It is a small village immersed in the silence of nature alien to the chaos of the city-museum.

This village is in the countryside and it has not been easy to reach but but we loved the beauty of the place. Departing from Padua with a regional train to Monselice, we arrived at our destination in about 20 minutes. We discovered that there are no direct buses to Arquà. There was a family that listening to our complaints offered us a lift but our adventurous spirit has suggested us to refuse the offer and walk to the village.
